Deltassist invites you to participate in its annual community needs survey. Deltassist needs your ideas about social services needs in Delta to assist us to plan future programs and services that meet real needs in Delta.

Are you a young person looking to gain valuable work experience? Are you looking for an opportunity to help others in your community? Would you like to learn new skills? If so, Deltassist has just released the 2008-09 Youth Volunteer Directory.
To access the latest Youth Volunteer Directory, under Explore Deltassist, click on Volunteering and check out the many opportunities and download the Directory.
In a report recently released by the Delta ECD Committee, it noted, "Provincially there were almost a quarter of a million (245,940) children under 6 years of age in 2006. In Metro Vancouver the number was 132.030 or 54% of all children under 6 in B.C."
The report also noted, "In Delta there were 5,930 (children under 6) representing 2.4% of the provincial total and 4.5% of all children in the age group in Metro Vancouver."

As a member of the "Delta Connects" Steering Committee, Deltassist, along with concerned Delta residents and other community organization have produced the "Aging in Place Seniors Project" Fianl Report. This report attempts to answer some of the following questions.
- Is Delta ready to meet the needs of an aging population?
- What are the strengths of programs and services in Delta?
- What are the gaps and needs of the senior's population?

As a member of the Delta Communities in Action Steering Committee, Deltassist Family and Community Services would like to share and make available a series of documents produced by the Delta Communities in Action Steering Committee.

Accreditation
As an accredited organization, Deltassist is currently preparing for its first re- accreditation under a new set of Canadian standards. The on-site peer review is scheduled to begin in December 2009.
