VOLUNTEER VISITORS NEEDED

Deltassist is looking for volunteers who would enjoy spending time with a senior.

Volunteer applicants are required to agree to a Criminal Record Check. Once you're registered as a volunteer, you are matched with a senior, living in their own home in Delta.

As a Volunteer Visitor, you would be providing companionship and friendship, share common interests and perhaps go on outings around the community.

Through your commitment as a volunteer, you would be helping a senior maintain their independence and stay connected to our community.

Do you speak a second language? We have seniors waiting to be matched with volunteers who can converse in Greek and Farsi.

The Volunteer Visiting program, for most seniors, reduces social isolation and helps make a marked improvement in the quality of life and independence.

"To be a volunteer means to be a person who makes a choice to reach out to others for their good without demands for rewards. The volunteer's satisfaction comes from within. A true volunteer receives much more than she/he has given."

Herbert Brandt
Deltassist Volunteer Visitor since 1993
