Nobody's Perfect Parenting Program

A free six week parenting program offered to parents with children from birth to five years of age. These sessions provide useful information about children's health, safety, development, behaviour, and supports and encourages confidence in positive parenting. Childcare is provided. Self-Referrals and referrals from the Community.

Groups sessions are held weekly.

Session are two hours in length and usually held in the morning.

Sessions will be held at our Ladner HUB office located in the Harbourside Mall at 205 - 5000 Bridge Street in Ladner.

Alcohol and Drug Program

Provides counselling to any person who is either directly or indirectly affected by a substance misuse problem. Services are for individuals, couples, families, youth, seniors and groups and include treatment, education and prevention. Outreach services for seniors also available.

Alcohol & Drug Education Groups are periodically offered by Deltassist. Watch for upcoming dates and times.

Alternatives to Violence Program

Provides assistance to women and children experiencing relationship violence. Services may include:
  • Individual and group counselling for adult women who are/have been victims of relationship violence
  • Individual and group counselling for adult female survivors of childhood sexual abuse

The following group sessions are periodically offered by Deltassist. Watch for upcoming group session to be offered for the following:
FAIR 1 Group (Freedom from Violence in Relationships)
SAFE KIDS Group.

Family Support Services

Outreach Counselling to Families provides counselling and educational support for parents who lack the support or experience to cope effectively.

Family Development Response involves intensive work with families, assisting them to develop effective parenting skills. It addresses communication, conflict resolution and decision-making. This will assist the family to identify and strengthen individual and family support systems and to access resources.

One to One Work With Children addresses individual goals that will support the child and family.

Supervised Visitation provides supervision that will ensure the safety and well-being of children during visits with family members.

Counselling is conducted mostly on an outreach basis. Referrals primarily from MCFD, but community referrals accepted for Outreach Counselling to Families.

Healthy Families Program

Provides quick response for assessment, education, support and in-home treatment for families. Assists parents to increase their parenting effectiveness through skill building. In collaboration with MCFD, the program maintains safety of children in the home by identifying and addressing risk. Referrals from MCFD only.

Young Parent Outreach Program

Helps teen and young parents with support, parent education and mentoring to enable them to meet personal development goals and encourage the healthy development of their children.

Youth Suicide Prevention Program

Provides assistance to youth who are at risk of committing suicide. Services include crisis intervention, risk assessment/management, individual and family counselling, co-ordinated community response and prevention education to the community and in Delta schools.
