Weekday HandyDART service is available from 7:00 am—8:00 pm with limited service to 11:00 pm. Weekend HandyDART service is available based on demand, within regular service hours in Delta and limited service outside Delta.
Always be ready before your scheduled pick up time (15 minutes is suggested). Drivers are instructed to wait no longer than 5 minutes past your pickup time.

HandyDART is a door-to-door service. If you need additional assistance inside a building, if you are in a wheelchair and the building has stairs, or if you have several parcels to carry, be sure to have someone travel with you.
Attendants travel free of charge. Registered HandyDART passengers cannot travel as an attendant. Drivers do not carry grocery bags or parcels for passengers. When using Handy DART to go shopping remember, only what you can carry is permitted on the bus, (two bags is suggested). If you have more, some local grocery stores now deliver.

This is a pre-scheduled service. Drivers will not make unscheduled stops. Such requests should be arranged at the time you schedule your trip.

If you miss or cancel a scheduled pick up, the return is automatically cancelled as well. Call the office as soon as possible if you still require a return ride. While on the bus, you are required to wear a seat belt at all times.

MOBILITY DEVICE

The wheelchairs lifts on HandyDART vehicles can accommodate devices that fit within the following measurements:

Width: 99 cm (39 inches)
Length maximum: 120 cm (47 inches)
Combined weight of passenger and mobility aid
must not exceeed 205 kg (450 pounds)

CANCELLING TRIPS

Cancellations must be phoned into the dispatch office. 24 hours is preferred. Timely cancellations free up the service for others who may need it. To insure more people get rides, the following trip cancellation policy is: If you are a no-show or cancel at the door 3 times within one month you may be suspended from using HandyDART.

Cash Fares

$2.50 for travel within one zone
$3.75 across two or three zones
$5.00 for four or more zones

FARESAVERS

Books of 10 $2.50 fare savers are  $19.00
Books of 10 $3.75 fare savers are $28.50

FARECARDS

Full Full fare monthly fare cards are acceptable for payment of fares on HandyDART.

Taxi savers:

If you have a Handy Card you may purchase Taxi saver coupon books from the HandyDART operator in the city you live in. You may purchase a maximum of 2 books per month. Each book costs $25.00 and has $50.00 worth of Taxi saver coupons inside.

Either mail us a self addressed envelope with a cheque made payable to Deltassist for the amount of one or two books or come into our office at 9097 120 Street in Delta if you are a Delta resident between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Please note the HandyDART office is closed from 12-1.
