United Way Community Spirit Awards

At a recently held "United Way Community Spirit Awards" event, Deltassist’s Volunteer Shopping and Phone Shopping Programs were honoured as the first runner up in the Celebration of Community Awards.

The award included a $2,500 cash grant and a plaque pictured below.

Accepting the award on behalf of Deltassist Family and Community Services were Lorraine Yates and Lyn Walker

Speaking with Doug Sabourin, Executive Director of Deltassist, he said, "In these uncertain times, with cut backs and shortages it is important to remember how significant Deltassist's services are to Delta residents and what a difference our work makes in peoples' lives."

Mr. Sabourin added, "It is a real honour for this volunteer program to be recognized by the United Way as it exemplifies Deltassist's motto of 'Caring for our Community'".
